The course has the objective to deepen the practical understanding of the use of probability and statistics in the context of epidemiological/biomedical research. In particular the students will learn the differences between the main epidemiological study designs, suitable measures of treatment/exposure effect , the concepts of bias, variability, confounding and causality in epidemiology. They will also learn the concept and application of linear regression and have an introduction to logistic regression.
