- Therapeutic uses of nucleic acids: catalytic RNA, RNA interference, DNA editing, CRISPR Cas9.

- Therapeutic uses of proteins: therapeutic enzymes, monoclonal antibodies, peptide hormones
- Recombinant DNA technologies: DNA cloning and creation of genomic libraries; DNA sequencing; expression of recombinant proteins in heterologous organisms
- Recombinant DNA for the production of biopharmaceuticals
- Use of biotechnological products in the synthesis of biologically active molecules
