Course program
- General notions of thermodynamics and compressible aerodynamics.
- Quasi one-dimensional flows and convergent-divergent nozzle operation
- Performance parameters and thrust of air-breathing and rocket engines
- Operation, thermodynamic modeling, and performance of major aircraft engines: simple turbojet, separate/associated flow turbofan, afterburner, turboprop, ramjet.
- Principles of operation of combustion chambers.
- Principles of operation of turbomachines.
