The course deepens the problems concerning plan, execution, maintenance and management of the Hospital plants and technological systems At the end of the course, students know different plants and technological systems and the ways to design, inspect and manage them, focusing on the problem of safety The hospital system. General criteria for the design of hospital systems. Thermodynamic of humid air and psychrometrics. Thermohygrometric, visual and acoustic comfort for people inside the hospital; reference legislation. Air quality and biocontamination. Cooling and heating load calculations. All-air systems. Air-and-water systems. Air distribution. Energy recovery. Central cooling and heating. Water distribution. Air conditioning systems for patient rooms, surgery and critical care units, special units, etc.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of physics, thermal sciences, fluid mechanics - thermodynamics, heat transfer, heat exchangers
