Educational objectives he Course proposes the fundamental themes of evaluation by presenting the most
recent disciplinary developments. This area of interest includes the answers that,
in recent years, the discipline of evaluation has given to the questions posed
by the economics of culture and the environment, by the principles of
sustainable development, by the effects of climate change, by the complexity of large
intervention projects. The most innovative approaches are focused on evaluations
connected to the inclusion of citizens in decision-making processes of social relevance
related to the production and use of community assets, in particular those
located in urban areas.
Specifically, the Course intends to provide the theoretical-methodological tools for two
operational areas: a) the evaluation of assets in the civil, construction and environmental fields; b) the
evaluation of the economic feasibility and integral sustainability of projects,
carried out during the design process.

The applications concern specific engineering problems such as seismic risk assessment, foundation soil analysis, identification of structural elements (reinforcements, floor texture, foundations), diagnosis of masonry (state of conservation, fracturing, etc.), assessment of instability and landslide, search for cavities.
