Presentation

The Degree Programme aims to train a professional capable of operating within the current complex structure of the construction sector as a form of transformation of the local community, adopting an environmental, economic and social sustainability perspective, and with a specific profile oriented towards optimising the application of innovative Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
Graduates in Technological and Digital Innovation Engineering for the Built Environment, in addition to acquiring the fundamental scientific knowledge and the core competences of civil, building and environmental engineering, will also gain the skills necessary to correctly understand the environmental context, also through advanced technologies such as remote sensing, in which to apply the most appropriate techniques for interventions involving either the transformation of existing structures or new construction.
This will be achieved through a semester-based study plan designed to allow the acquisition of competences and skills with a progressively increasing level of complexity.
The proposed educational project aims to integrate scientific knowledge typical of civil and environmental engineering disciplines, such as hydraulics, structural engineering, construction science and engineering, environmental and sanitary engineering, technical physics and surveying, with the scientific disciplines that characterise building engineering, such as architectural design, construction technology, building production and urban planning. It also includes principles that increasingly orient the strategies of many countries worldwide, such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and the Circular Economy (CE).
Each of these subjects will be taught by integrating concepts related to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and innovative technologies that represent their natural evolution.
In particular, students will acquire the ability to analyse and recognise the geological, seismic and hydraulic characteristics of the territory, in order to apply appropriate building techniques aimed at optimising energy consumption, reducing environmental impact and meeting the various needs of management, design, construction and production at the different operational scales of the construction sector.
To provide graduates in Technological and Digital Innovation Engineering for the Built Environment with practical experience in integrating the many advanced technologies relevant to their professional profile, the programme also includes both disciplinary and interdisciplinary laboratory activities, as well as opportunities for training internships with companies that apply innovative technologies to construction and environmental monitoring.
Graduates of this Degree Programme will therefore be able to address and respond effectively to complex problems within the construction sector, using advanced innovative technologies linked to ICT. They will be able to organise and manage the different stages of intervention on the built and natural environment.
