LABS OF INDUSTRY 4.0

Course objectives

The course gives on-field experience to apply technologies of Industry 4.0. The course, as an extension of the Smart Factory course, develops one of its topics through the application of simulation models, business intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, or defect detection and recognition.

Course program
Application of the concepts learned in the Smart Factory course, with the development of a technical solution dedicated to Industry 4.0, for example through the use of data analysis software, simulation, and artificial intelligence. The case is proposed by the teacher from year to year.

Course "Smart Factory" (in italian)
Books
Depending on the project, the professor provides references.
Teaching mode
The laboratory includes some initial meetings for case definition and meetings to review the work done.

Exam mode
The course mark relies on the evaluation of the project. The teacher assesses the achievement of the objectives defined at the beginning of the laboratory, effectiveness/efficiency of the designed and developed system, the independence of the student in the activities, the ability to illustrate what has been achieved, the capability to explain the architecture and the modules of the solution developed in the lab. The project results must be verifiable on the teacher's PC.
