The fourth edition of the ManuThon event, organized by Aitem (Italian Association of Manufacturing Technologies), will be held in Florence on May 8-9, 2026. ManuThon is a non-stop competition that will last approximately 36 hours, following the typical Hackathon format, and will focus on manufacturing. Participants are bright young people selected from universities across Italy (undergraduate, graduate, master's, and doctoral students, as well as recent graduates under 32) who will compete in groups to conceive and develop innovative ideas in response to challenges proposed by companies in the sector. The primary goal of ManuThon is to facilitate meetings between companies and young people in an unconventional, informal, and unstructured context. This year's participating companies include Baker Hughes, the Italian Institute of Welding, Altform, and Borg (REUMAN consortium).
