Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with an initial knowledge of Catalan language and literature through the study of works, authors and themes useful for studying its fundamental aspects.

Course program
Some of the most relevant texts of Catalan poetry, composed from the 13th to the 21st century, will be read in the Catalan language. Cultural linguistic bases will be provided to understand these poems in their historical context.
Prerequisites
Ability on critically read poetic texts. Basic knowledge on metrics and rhetoric.
Exam mode
A poem will be provided, among those read and commented on a lesson, and its translation and critical analysis will be requested.
