Legal aspects and laws related to disability and deafness
Course objectives
A) Knowledge and understanding: the student will have a geneal knowledge of legal issues related to sign language, deafness and deafblindness, and will possess the ability to understand these specific areas of study, supported by the most recent bibliography. B) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the student will be able to understand and apply the current laws in their profession, and will know the norms related to deafness, deafblindness and LIS, as well as the professional figures revolving around the deaf person ; C) Autonomy of judgment: the student will be able to understand correctly the rules enforced by the law, and reflect on the limits and ethics of their profession; D) Communication skills: the student will be able to explain and communicate the content of the rules related to deafness, deafblindness and LIS; E) Learning skills: the student will have the necessary tools to go deeper into the legal questions, and work independently to keep himself constantly updated on the most recent changes to the law.
