Italian Sign Language III
Course objectives
A) Knowledge and understanding: The student will be able to understand enough to be able to follow a broad discourse on abstract and complex topics on most fields, eventually needing some help to clarify peculiar expressions in a linguistic variety he/she is not familiar with. He/she will be able to recognize many idiomatic and slang expressions and to catch changes in the register. He/She will be able to follow a long speech even when not clearly structured and if the relationships remain implicit. B) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: The student will be able to apply his/her knowledge to easily follow complex interactions even in group discussions and to identify digressions, colloquial and idiomatic expressions and their possible diatopic varieties. C) Autonomy of judgment: in comparison with other sign language users, the student will be able to measure their competence and consciously manage numerous and varied levels of linguistic expression. D) Communication skills: the student will be able to communicate easily through the LIS even in complex interactions in group discussions and to identify digressions, colloquial and idiomatic expressions and their possible diatopic varieties. E) Learning skills: the student will be able to improve his / her expressive skills autonomously by referring profitably to the appropriate consultation tools.
