PORTUGUESE AND BRASILIAN LANGUAGE I
Course objectives
Learning Outcomes: Students acquire basic skills related to the history and geography of the language, with particular reference to the phonological level; students understand the basic problems involved in translation (Portuguese-Italian). 1.Knowledge and understanding: students know the main stages of the evolution of the Portuguese language and the main differences between its variants, with particular reference to phonology, but also to morphology and vocabulary; 2. Applied knowledge and understanding: students are able to apply, in a comparative key, the knowledge acquired to wider contexts, such as that of Romance languages or, more generally, European languages; students are able to reflect critically on the linguistic context of reference; 3. Making judgements: students are able to to reflect autonomously on texts belonging to different phases or varieties of the language, analyzing their specific characteristics; 4. Communication: students are able to appropriately use the specific lexicon of the discipline, both in Portuguese and in Italian, with particular reference to diachronic linguistics and to phonology; 5. Learning skills: students engage in directed reading and pursue further studies applying the competences that they have acquired to other subjects in their field of studies.
