Rulebooks
Course regulations
a) The Degree Programme is organised in a single curriculum.
b) In order to enrol in the Degree Programme, candidates must take a compulsory but non-selective test to assess their initial knowledge. Candidates who obtain a score lower than the threshold specified in the relevant call for applications will be assigned a Further Required Course (OFA).
The test is in English and consists of a multiple-choice questionnaire designed to assess text comprehension and summarising skills.
Following the test results, candidates who score below the threshold set out in the call will be assigned a specific OFA to be fulfilled within the first year of the programme.
The OFA is considered fulfilled either by attending a course in Academic English and passing the related test, or by passing a curricular examination scheduled in the first year of the programme and specified in the call for applications.
Failure to fulfil the OFA will prevent students from enrolling in the second year.
All details regarding the enrolment procedures and deadlines, the structure and content of the test, as well as the procedures for fulfilling and passing the OFA, are available in the relevant call for applications.
c) The courses included in the study programme, with reference to the relevant academic disciplines and any modular structure, are published in the “Manifesto”.
d) The courses and the corresponding credits are published in the “Manifesto”.
e) Elective activities and the corresponding number of credits are published in the “Manifesto”.
f) The procedures for possible programme transfer and/or change from other degree programmes are set out in the University’s academic regulations for the current academic year.
g) Teaching is delivered in the standard mode. Depending on the subject, assessment methods may include oral and/or written examinations and/or other forms of evaluation.
h) The Degree Programme Board appoints one or more lecturers responsible for verifying language skills. The corresponding credits are listed in the “Manifesto”.
i) The Degree Programme Board appoints one or more lecturers responsible for verifying other competences. The corresponding credits are listed in the “Manifesto”.
j) The Degree Programme Board appoints one or more lecturers responsible for verifying the outcomes of any internships, traineeships or study periods abroad. The corresponding credits are listed in the “Manifesto”.
k) Other provisions concerning student obligations are set out in the Student Charter of Rights and Duties, available on the Sapienza website.
l) The Degree Programme adopts standard attendance modes. No specific attendance options are provided for part-time students.
m) The Degree Programme allows, subject to verification, the recognition of credits earned in other Sapienza programmes or at other universities, in accordance with its own programme regulations.
n) Academic tutoring is aimed at guiding and supporting students throughout their studies, encouraging active participation in the learning process and removing barriers to effective course attendance, also through initiatives tailored to individual needs, aptitudes and requirements.
Tutoring services collaborate with student support bodies and student representatives, contributing to the students’ overall cultural education and full participation in university life (Law 341/1990, Art. 13).
o) When preparing their study plan, students will be given guidance on how to complete one or more recommended study plans.
