Zoroastrian Cosmology The course for the academic year 2025–2026 explores the cosmological concepts that developed within Zoroastrianism in antiquity and late antiquity. The Zoroastrian conceptual interpretation of the cosmos reflects a deeply dualistic worldview, grounded in the irreducible opposition between good and evil. This cosmological framework emerges as a central theme in the construction of Iranian religious identity and played a crucial role in the interconfessional debates that shaped the cultural context of the Mediterranean and Western Asia during the first millennium CE. Class material (texts; images; slides ecc.) will be shared with the students through elearning.uniroma1.it/ (STORIA E RELIGIONI DELL'IRAN ANTICO).
