Issues of Medieval History

Course objectives

The course aims to deepen a complex issue of great importance in medieval history through the direct reading of sources and specialized bibliography, in order to put the student in a position to address original topics even in a research context, to formulate judgments in more complex and articulate, communicate the knowledge and the processes that led to their acquisition, and study the topics in an autonomous way.

Course program
This course intends to introduce the issues of the most recent crusade historiography, with particular regard to the foundations of the idea of the crusade, its historical development in the Middle Ages and its reworking in modern and contemporary culture.
