Course program
The second module, led by Prof. Elena Ritondale is part of the project LINCS and its knowledge transfer activities. It will focus on the production and distribution of works by Spanish-American authors in Italy from the 1980s to the present day. It will therefore revisit themes such as reception and translation, after a theoretical introduction to the concepts of cultural field, literary field, and polysystems. It will then focus on a general description of the works produced by Hispanic American authors in Italy and their characteristics, including in linguistic terms. The last part of the course, carried out thanks to the active contribution of students in a Learning Based on Project mode, will aim to create an initial mapping of publishing, information, and artistic realities, as well as independent collectives, festivals, blogs, and other initiatives carried out collectively by authors of Hispanic-American origin in Italy. The following topics will be addressed in detail: A theoretical orientation: literary field and polysystem. Hispanic American literature produced outside the continent: historical and theoretical overview. Latin America from Italy: from the Generation of the 1950s to the present day. The first archives that brought to light Hispanic American production from Italy. Literary competitions dedicated to production and translation. The protagonists of the present: an overview of the main authors. From mother tongue to daughter language: figures who write in Spanish, Italian, or both languages. Learning Based on Project: collective research and mapping of the main realities in Italy. Seminar meetings led by experts on the subject and comparison with the literary field in Spain.
