EUROPEAN ART AND THE GLOBAL WORLD 1400-1750

Course objectives

The course offers students advanced tools for historical and critical analysis to investigate European art of the early modern period in a transcultural context. Students will be able to develop critical approaches to these topics by engaging with themes and methods from global art history, focusing on issues that highlight connected histories—both artistically and culturally—between Europe and other geopolitical entities.
