Course program
Know the main clinical problems connected with the following categories: internistic, surgical and oncological medicine from the preventative, diagnostic and prognostic point of view.
Be able to carry out diagnostic procedures with an awareness of the relationshiop between benefits, risks and costs.
Know diagnostic procedure and the main principles of therapy of diseases of surgical interest frequently occurring in elderly patients.
Prerequisites
Advanced knowledge of pathoogy and pathophysiology of organs and sysstems. Kbnowledge of therapy and pharmacology. Knowledge of epidemiology and health statistics.

8. Knowing how to address the complexity of patients in the ward affected by multiple comorbidities
9. Metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD)
Prerequisites
The prerequisites for the course include knowledge of the pathophysiology of the most common internal medicine conditions (hypertension, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, atherosclerosis, ischemic heart disease, heart failure, infectious diseases commonly encountered in internal medicine departments such as pneumonia and urinary tract infections, autoimmune diseases, deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism), basics of general pharmacology, familiarity with drugs used in internal medicine conditions, and understanding of pathological anatomy.

Frequency
As for the students' frequency with the undersigned professor, it involves practical professionalizing lessons in small groups in the wards and outpatient clinics of Internal Medicine.
Exam mode
The general assessment of the exam consists of knowledge of the topics covered in class. The assessment of internships will be based on the student's ability to evaluate a complex clinical situation, work in a team, handle communication between physician and patient, propose a diagnostic-therapeutic strategy, discuss it with colleagues, and make collective decisions.
Lesson mode
