Osteoarthritis of the hip and knee: etiopathogenetic framework, biochemical and anatomopathological evolution, with differentiation with respect to degenerative alterations linked to aging. Radiographic diagnosis and imaging. Treatment principles, from conservative to surgical.
Degenerative pathologies of the lumbar spine. Lumbar and lumboradicular pain. Degenerative disc disease, herniated disc, spondylolisthesis, spinal canal stenosis. Clinical, radiological framework and treatment principles.
Spinal deformities in adolescence: scoliosis and kyphosis (M. of Sheuermann)
Orthopedic pathologies in pediatric age: congenital hip dysplasia, Perthes' disease, epiphysiolysis, congenital clubfoot.
Bone tumors. Classification, clinical-diagnostic classification of the main primary benign and malignant bone tumors and tumor-like lesions. Differential diagnosis and treatment principles.
Degenerative pathologies of the shoulder: rotator cuff tendinopathy.
Carpal tunnel syndrome.
Traumatology: most frequently encountered traumas (fractures-dislocations) of the upper limb, lower limb, pelvis and spine. Immediate complications of fractures and possible long-term outcomes
Prerequisites
good knowledge of the histology of bone and cartilaginous tissue; anatomy of the musculoskeletal system and peripheral nervous system
