Course program
The course focuses on the educational dimension of early childhood services (taking into account their evolution and multifunctionality). It will be carried out on three levels: A) foundative-introductive in the field of general and social pedagogy, recalling the following themes: object of study and intervention and function of pedagogy (trinomial instruction-education-bildung); times/ages of life/education (education in biological cycles/in the human life course) and training systems/places/agencies (formal, non-formal and informal bildung system vs integrated bildung system and networking), knowledge, planning and (trans)formative role of the socio-pedagogical professional educator and of childcare services. B) monographic - about childcare services - : the political dimension (social values and principles), scientific (theories of development - and of the ""lines of development" - child and learning processes, with particular attention the first three years of life and the routines relating to meals, changing and sleeping) and methodological (play/activity - free and organized - and practice, analysis and development of educational settings: spaces and times, rules, roles and relationships with and between adults and peers); the issue of children and families in difficulty/distress and with diffrent culture; school-family continuity (in plural sense and in social transformations, about parental and professional roles); attachment and settling-in phase to different styles and histories of relationships in the childwood service (between history, research and debates), therefore the opposing visions and experiences on the "reference person" vs "reference group" (with regard to the allowed alternative by multiple ties); work with parents and family support; the college/collective of educators and supervision, research-action-training with the involvement of parental and professional figures. C) the author's contribution on the level of the cultural canon, with regard to D.W.Winnicott - in "Game and Reality" -, a collection of some of his most important studies on child development and on the way in which the child "does" and perceives the world, referring above all to the formation of his imaginative life - from transitional objects and phenomena to cultural experience - for a creative organization of the Self.
Prerequisites
The fundamental basics of general and social Pedagogy. The basic concepts will in any case be taken up in the classroom by the professor.

Frequency
Attendance at the course is optional, but particularly recommended for importance curriculum and formative purposes.
Exam mode
The final exam will be oral and will focus on all the bibliography indicated for the preparation of the exam. The vote will be expressed out of thirty and the exam is considered passed with a minimum score of 18/30;
In evaluating the test, the following general indexes of judgment will be taken into account: accuracy of the answer; mastery and conceptual organization of thematic contents; thematic breadth and coherence of the treatment; specialized lexical correctness; level of detail and ability to connect theoretically; ability to critically re-elaborate knowledge; ability to infer the theoretical knowledge of the operational plan in a professional context.

The method of carrying out the teaching of Pedagogy of educational services will be in presence (with frontal lessons, inclusive about interactive mode and presentation of materials/tasks/cases by students).
