Minor courses

Currently two different MINOR programmes are open to students enrolled in the first year of the Master's Degree in Exploration geology:

  • Environmental Sustainability;
  • Science Education

Minors are interdisciplinary thematic courses, which are optional and complementary to the Bachelor's or Master's degree programme, focusing on topics of great relevance in the current scenario and aimed at training professionals with additional skills useful for further studies and for entering the world of work.
The Minor programme involves the acquisition of 30 ECTS credits in cross-disciplinary training activities, some of which are extracurricular with respect to the Master's degree programme, and the completion of an interdisciplinary Master's thesis on a topic consistent with the educational objectives of the Minor.
Enrolment in the Minor is free of charge and the credits for the extracurricular part can be completed within 6 months of obtaining the degree.
Completion of the Minor is certified by the University, with the award of an Open Badge, and if the qualification is obtained at the same time as the Master's degree, this will be certified in the Diploma Supplement, an additional document to the degree certificate.
