- Frontal classes (14 hours) = Governance and urban issues; The imaginaries of neoliberal city; New participatory practices; Participation and urban governance.
- Seminars with experts (12 hours) = urban inequalities; urban development projects; urban austerity, neo-mutualism.
- Case studies in working group (4 hours) =comparative analysis of participative practices and exercise on the reasons of the spread of participation
Evaluation = 2 hours
Second part (20 hours)
- Research laboratory (18 hours) = presentation of research laboratory, methodology and characteristics of final report; tutoring of working groups
- Presentation of final result (2 hours) = presentation, discussion and evaluation of final report.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge about theory and concepts of poltical sociology is a prerequisite.
Basic knowledge about the neoliberalization of public action is important.

Students NOT attending
Written test aimed to evaluate knowledge acquired by individual study. The tests will be done according to the scheduling of the exams. Both knowledge of theories, methods and concepts and critical-analytical abilities will be evaluated.
ATTENDING students
- A written test aimed to evaluate knowledge acquired will be done at the end of the first part of the class. Both knowledge of theories, methods and concepts and critical-analytical abilities will be evaluated.
- a drafting and presentation of a report containing the main results of laboratory research. The report and presentation will be evaluated considering: acquired knowledge, capacities to applying knowledge in terms of problem setting and problem solving, critical faculties, communication and learning skills.
The final result will be the average berween the two tests.
