Study periods in European Countries: Erasmus +
Erasmus+ promotes transnational cooperation between higher education institutions; it finances study mobility (SMS) in all disciplines and study levels (including doctoral studies) and promotes academic recognition of studies within the European Higher Education Area. The Erasmus+ programme allows students to attend courses and pass exams, with full recognition in their academic curriculum, or to conduct research for their degree or doctoral thesis.

Internships in European Countries: Erasmus + traineeship
Erasmus+ mobility for training internships allows students to complete internships at companies, training centers, and research centers based in one of the participating countries. The programme allows students to undertake full-time internships abroad, recognized as an integral part of their study programme. Internships can also be undertaken after graduation, provided that selection takes place before graduation. The number of months of mobility is added to the Erasmus study periods, up to the maximum allowed by the programme.

CIVIS European Alliance, “A European Civic University”
Sapienza is a partner of the CIVIS European Alliance, "A European Civic University," funded by the European Union and established together with the universities of:

The alliance has activated a variety of study programmes shared among its 11 European campuses to create a truly European Higher Education Area and contribute to the development of a solid, multilingual European knowledge society. Education is based on research and innovative teaching activities, which include, in addition to traditional Erasmus mobility, short-term mobility, including virtual and distance mobility.

Study periods in non-EU Countries: Overseas Program
Thanks to funding provided by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) and its own contributions, Sapienza University offers students the opportunity to spend a study period, taking exams or completing their thesis research, at one of the over 200 non-EU institutions with which it has bilateral agreements. Overseas mobility provides a monthly grant of €700 net per month for the first five months and €500 net from the sixth month onwards. The continuous stay abroad cannot be less than 90 days and can last a maximum of two consecutive semesters. This grant may be used only once per study cycle, and it cannot be combined with other Sapienza grants.

Study or research periods in non-EU Countries: Erasmus+ KA171 international credit mobility - ICM Program
The Erasmus+ ICM programme, funded by the European Commission, allows students and faculty members to spend a period of study/thesis research or teaching/training in non-EU countries. It provides a scholarship and coverage of travel expenses. All activities undertaken abroad will be recognized upon return from the mobility period by the responsible Sapienza faculty members, as established in the Learning Agreement. Student mobility can last a minimum of 3 to 6 months (possibly extendable up to a maximum of 12 months, of which the last 6 months are without a scholarship - Zero-EU Grant). The ICM scholarship also covers PhD-level research mobility for the same duration. Travel expenses are calculated using the Distance Calculator based on the distance between the home university and the destination university.

Scholarships for theses abroad
Scholarships for Master's Thesis Abroad are intended for those enrolled in at least the first year of a master's degree programme, the penultimate year, or the final year of a single-cycle master's degree programme, and wish to carry out part of their thesis preparation abroad at foreign or EU institutions, organizations, businesses, or at supranational or international institutions of adequate scientific and cultural standing.
Thesis work abroad must be carried out for a period of at least two consecutive months. The scholarship is €2,821.00 gross (including IRAP). Scholarships are awarded based on a call for applications managed by the faculties.

Post-graduate scholarships for advanced training abroad
Scholarships for advanced studies abroad allow students to attend courses or advanced studies at foreign and international university-level institutions. These scholarships are offered annually and last a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 12 months. The monthly amount is €1,290, exempt from personal income tax (IRPEF).
These scholarships are reserved for those who have obtained a master's degree, a single-cycle master's degree, or an equivalent degree from Sapienza University of Rome by the last available session of the academic year preceding the publication of the call for applications, and who are under 29 years of age.

***Degree Program Activities***
The Degree Programme organizes meetings regarding the mobility opportunities offered by the various Erasmus programmes.
With the support of the RAM, the President of the Degree Programme Board also provides assistance to interested students in choosing the most appropriate foreign university for their chosen training programme.
