Programmes and Texts
The course aims to introduce students to the language of Hittite history and civilisation through a general overview of key topics and a direct engagement with sources in transliteration and translation. Learning the Hittite language and approaching cuneiform writing will enable students to undertake guided reading of the texts studied. Language acquisition will be conducted through the philological and grammatical analysis of a text selected by the lecturer.
