Curriculum
Tommaso Campi received the Laurea degree (M.Sc.) in Telecommunication Engineering in 2013 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2017, both from the University of L’Aquila, Italy. He is currently an Associate Professor at Sapienza University of Rome. His research interests include wireless power transfer (WPT), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), numerical modeling, and biomedical applications.
He is the recipient of several awards, including the Moto Kanda Award (IEEE Transactions on EMC, 2020), the Best Paper Award at IEEE WPW 2019, and Best Poster Awards at IEEE CEFC 2018, CEFC 2014, and ET 2017. He has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications, serves as Guest Editor for severasl Journals, and is co-author of the book “Wireless Power Transfer for E-Mobility” (Elsevier, 2023).
Campi has participated in national and international research projects, and he is inventor of a patent on WPT-based drone recharging systems, and is co-founder of Zerowire S.r.l., an academic spin-off focused on the design of advanced WPT systems for biomedical, robotic, and automotive applications.
