Curriculum
Antonio d'Alessandro è Professore Ordinario del settore scientifico disciplinare “Elettronica” (ING-INF/01) dal 31.3.2022, abilitato a professore di prima fascia dal 4 febbraio 2014. Dal 1991 al 1994 è stato post-doc presso i laboratori Bellcore nel New Jersey (USA). Ricercatore Universitario dal 1994 e Professore Associato dal 2002. Svolge attività scientifica e didattica nel campo dell’Optoelettronica e della Fotonica.
Dal 2010 al 2022 è stato Presidente della Società Italiana Cristalli Liquidi. E’ Senior Member dell’IEEE Photonics Society e Presidente/Chair del Comitato Esecutivo del Chapter Italiano dal 2020 al 2023. E’ membro dell’Optical Society of America e dell’International Liquid Crystal Society. E' stato Associate Editor of IEEE Photonics Journal dal 2014 al 2020.
Dal 2018 al 2024 è stato Direttore del Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca sulle Nanotecnologie applicate all'Ingegneria (CNIS) e Responsabile scientifico del Laboratorio di Nanotecnologie e Nanoscienze della Sapienza (SNN-Lab). Dal 2019 è Presidente del Consiglio d'Area Didattica di Ingegneria Elettronica. Dal 2019 è Vice Preside con delega dei programmi internazionali e coordinatore accademico della mobilità della Facoltà di Ingegneria dell'Informazione, Informatica e Statistica.
E’ revisore di diverse riviste scientifiche. E’ stato responsabile scientifico di vari progetti europei e di progetti PRIN del MIUR, oltre che di progetti della Sapienza. E’ coautore di oltre 120 pubblicazioni su riviste specialistiche internazionali e contributi in congressi internazionali ed è co-inventore di due brevetti internazionali. E’ stato relatore invitato in diversi congressi internazionali. Insegna i corsi di Electronica, Optoelectronics e Photonics.
Antonio d’Alessandro is Full Professor of Electronics at Sapienza University of Rome, Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications. He was qualified as Full Professor since 4th February 2014 (ABILITAZIONE SCIENTIFICA NAZIONALE 2012), he was University researcher at Sapienza University of Rome since 6th June 1994 and Associate professor since March 2002. He has been Director of the Research Center of Nanotechnologies applied to Engineering of Sapienza and Scientific Responsible of Sapienza Nanotechnology and Nanoscience Laboratory from 2018 to 2024. He is President of the Didactic Area of Electronics Engineering. He is Vice-Dean for International programs of the Faculty of Information Engineering, Informatics and Statistics. He has been President of the Società Italiana Cristalli Liquidi (Italian Liquid Crystal Society) from 2010 to 2022- President of IEEE Photonics Society – Italy Chapter from 2020 to 2023. He is Senior Member of IEEE - Senior Member of the Optical Society of America - Member of the International Liquid Crystal Society and member of the International Board of Directors - Associate Member of CNR - IMM (Institute for Microelectronics and Microsystems) Associate Editor of IEEE Photonics Journal from 2014 to 2020. He teaches the courses of Electronics, Optoelectronics and Photonics.
