SOrT

SOrT (Orientation and tutoring services) is the integrated orientation service of Sapienza. At SOrT students can find more specific information regarding faculties and degree Programmes and support to guide them in in their choices when enrolling, during their study programme, when entering the job market and in choosing a Masters Degree or a Professional Development Programme.

Sort services, which are operated thanks to the collaboration of students who have been awarded a scholarship, guides the students to a more informed choice when selecting their study programme.

The opening hours of sort and the contacts are available at the following link:http://www.ing.uniroma1.it/drupal/drupal/didattica/orientamento

A brief description of the courses can be downloaded from http://www.uniroma1.it/sites/default/files/allegati/06.ingegneria_civile...

Sapienza promotes and supports the curricular and extracurricular training activities in Italy and abroad in favor of its students and graduates. The aim is to offer young people concrete opportunities for comparison with the world of work and thus foster their future professional choices. The Training Sector Area of the Training Offer and Study Right, also through the dedicated IT platform JOBSOUL Sapienza, particularly takes care of the following services and requirements: • Manages the signing of agreements for traineeships with public and private bodies, both in Italy and in 'abroad; • Provides assistance and information to users, also for the use of the IT platform, both in presence and via email and telephone; • Establishes relationships with other public bodies that deal with active employment policies with the training tool (Regions, Employment Centers) • Stipulates agreements to provide the service for the pre-selection of applications for notices issued by public bodies (Bank of 'Italy, IVASS, CRUI FOUNDATION) aimed at activating traineeships. Through the JOBSOUL Sapienza portal, students and graduates can: • register by inserting their personal data and compiling, publishing and managing their curriculum vitae; • look for job offers / internships in line with your curriculum profile in your portal and apply directly to online ads; • start online procedures for the activation of internships in agreement with the University; • directly contact companies and propose their own candidature; • choose whether to make personal data accessible to companies. The following services are provided at the University's Faculties / Departments: • reception and information; • approval and activation of training projects for students and graduates of their own courses, through the JOBSOUL Sapienza platform; • assistance for using the portal.

Collaborations with companies are very frequent. Starting from 2006 with some of them the report became systematic through the "Protocol between the Faculties of Engineering and the Large Enterprises" (FIGI), The Protocol is signed by some of the most important national and international productive realities: Accenture, Autostrade for Italy, EMC2, Enel, Ferrovie dello Stato, Finmeccanica, Fondazione Energia, MB Service, Prometeo Engineering, Technip, Terna.

Specific objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding are: to involve companies in the evaluation, design and development of a training offer adapted to the needs of the companies involved and the world of work; make available resources and specific skills from the business world to integrate the training process into the Study Courses; orient students at the entrance to the Faculty, support their training during the course of study, facilitate their entry into the world of work; activate research programs of interest to individual companies with the involvement of the Departments of the faculty and of the students themselves.

The Faculty activities are completed by the initiatives developed both by the Departments (which in the ambit of their autonomy stipulate collaboration agreements and research conventions), and by the individual professors who activate partnerships and partnerships that, although not formally unstructured, allow for internships and various collaboration activities.
