Introduction and Laboratory Organization (2 hours) • Role of pathological anatomy in diagnosis • Sample workflow: from operating room to report • Safety, traceability, and basic regulations Tissue Fixation and Embedding (2 hours) • Types of specimens: biopsies, surgical samples, cytology • Common fixatives (formalin, alcohol) • Dehydration, clearing, and paraffin embedding • Common errors and artifacts Sectioning and Slide Preparation (2 hours) • Use of the microtome: principles and techniques • Types of blades and maintenance • Mounting samples on slides Basic Histological Staining (2 hours) • Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining • Introduction to special stains (PAS, Giemsa) • Staining quality control Introduction to Immunohistochemistry and Molecular Biology (2 hours) • Basic principles of immunohistochemistry (IHC) • Practical applications: HER2, Ki67, HPV • Overview of PCR, FISH, and NGS
