Course program
- general concepts and context; - in-depth study in the basic knowledge of the most commonly used techniques in molecular pathology on tissue in situ or with extraction methods and preanalytic fase. 1) Lesson: Introduction to molecular diagnostics on tissue (3 hours); 2) Lesson: Extractive methods (3 hours); 3) Lesson: The in situ methods (3 hours); 4) Lesson: The molecular characterization of solid tumors on tissue (3 hours).
Prerequisites
In order to understand the teaching contents and to achieve the learning objectives, at the beginning of the didactic activities foreseen by the didactic module the student must possess the knowledge of biology and molecular biology.
Books
For the examination of the exam, we suggest a theoretical deepening already from the beginning of the course attendance. For the purpose of consultation and in-depth study, the recommended books are: Anatomia patologica - Le basi di Ruco - Scarpa. UTET ed. The teacher uses Sapienza e-learning platform: https://elearning.uniroma1.it/course/view.php?id=1285
Teaching mode
The teacher delivers lectures with traditional methods with audiovisual aids and scheduling of lessons as reported on GOMP Aule/Orari system, published on the website of the CdS.
Frequency
Following the Regulations of School, the student is required to attend educational activities, formal, non-formal, vocational. The frequency is checked by the teachers through signature / updated lists provided by the Academic Office, as established by CCL. Exam mode
To pass the exam you must obtain a grade of not less than 18/30 in each module. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired sufficient knowledge of the topics of molecular pathology, a basic knowledge of the topics of in situ and extractive methods and of being able to perform the preanalytic phase of the tissues. To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude, the student must demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to link them in a logical and consistent way.
