Course program
Module lessons (24 hours):
The course aims to provide an understanding of the psychological aspects of pregnancy , early motherhood and puerperium, with reference to scientific evidence and the latest advances in the scientific literature. Also it aims to provide measurement tools for the prevention and the promotion of well-being during pregnancy and during the postnatal period.
Communications in midwifery practice
-Emotions during pregnancy, labour and puerperium. Motherhood and fatherhood, changes in the body and body image. Measurement tools.
-Perinatal distress: stress, anxiety, baby blues and postnatal depressive illness
-Coping strategies, self-efficacy during pregnancy and puerperium
-Relaxation techniques
-Midwife’s role in supporting parent-baby relationships and attachment
-Breastfeeding: information, beliefs, attitudes and satisfaction. Measurement tools

Knowledge of the Italian language: INDISPENSABLE

Frequency
The frequency is compulsory.
Exam mode
Verification of proposed knowledge. During the final exam the theoretical knowledge will be evaluated, evaluating the student's ability to recognize and recall concepts and models differentiating them from each other.
Number of tests and timing: The exam will consist of a final assessment of the knowledge and skills ac-quired. This will be scheduled at the end of the course during the exam sessions.
Type, duration and method of the exam: Written test lasting 20 minutes consisting of closed and open ques-tions on the teaching materials delivered in class. According to the teacher, the written test can be accompa-nied by an oral exam.
Number and period of exam sessions: The exam will take place in all scheduled sessions. Dates are determined by the faculty manager
