Course program
First aid: definition, the star of life, the lay rescuer. Concept of Urgency and Emergency, Failure to Help, State of Necessity. Basics of clinical risk management (definition of sentinel event, theory of “Gruyere cheese”). Basic concepts on shock and the chain of survival. Basic support for vital functions: cardiopulmonary resuscitation in adults (BLS, Basic Life Support) and in the pediatric population (PBLS, Pediatric Basic Life Support). Semi-automatic defibrillation. First aid in airway obstruction in the adult and pediatric population. Heimlich maneuver. Resuscitation. General concepts on contrast media adverse reactions and acute renal injury due to contrast media. General notions on emergency-emergency imaging (Rx, ECO-FAST, CT, MRI): head trauma, Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), rib fractures, pneumothorax, ruptured spleen / haemoperitoneum, dyspnoea symptom assessment in Covid era, perforation and abdominal occlusion, acute appendicitis, acute pancreatitis. Triage concept. Trauma, sunstroke, heat stroke. Fracture, dislocation, sprain, muscle tear. Electrocution, drowning, poisoning. Diabete, diabetic coma, seizures.

To be enrolled or to have been enrolled in the third year of the "A" degree Radiographers' course.
