Prerequisites
The interior architecture module is an integral part of the Design Studio III, which constitutes its reference teaching structure. The program, the bibliography and the final exam are the same for both courses whose didactic objective is to take care of the general aspects of the design of the school building and, particularly in this section, of the specific characteristics of the interiors in terms of functional spaces and furnishings, which are an integral part of design research on new spaces for learning.
Teaching mode
Organization The workshop is based on the work carried out mainly in the classroom, as the main place for reflection and debate on the problems of design, and will be organized into lectures and exercises. All the materials of the Laboratory, including the lessons will be downloadable from the e-learning platform to which all students must register. There are three in-progress reports of the project: 1. GENERAL PLANIMETRY of the area of intervention with the insertion of the building and general plan in a 1: 500 scale including the school-open space-garden system; 2. plans and sections in 1: 200 scale; 3. report of the project A final presentation of the project is scheduled in the last week of the semester. Exam documents - FIVE A1 format drawing boards containing: planivolumetric plan in scale 1: 1000 including an adequate portion of the urban context; diagrams and graphs describing the concept; general plan of the building and related garden in 1: 500 scale with section-profiles and 3D views; plan elevations and sections of the building in a scale of 1: 200 with 3D views of interiors and exteriors; drawings of interior spaces related to the Interior Architecture module. - MODEL in 1: 500 scale of the building, of the garden and of the park - REPORT with definition and description of the concept, in A4 format max 10 pages including text and sketches and / or diagrams and a summary of the dimensional data of the building program. For the interior design module the student, as per the setting of the entire course, will have to demonstrate that he has also evaluated this as an integral part of the project.
Frequency
ATTENDANCE TO THE COURSE will be detected by signature on the attendance sheet. It is part of the mandatory to be present in the Design Studio activity the delivery of the intermediate exercises described in the "Teaching program" section. The condition of attending student will not be considered fulfilled if attendance signatures and deliveries are less than 70% of the total number of lessons.
Exam mode
The exam will take place with an oral part related to the reading of one of the chosen texts indicated in the bibliography and with the exposition of the project as described in the section: Methods of development. Exam documents.

Frequency
Bi-weekly mandatory classroom attendance for at least 70% of classes
Exam mode
Assessment of students' knowledge and learning skills will take place at the time of the final exam and with midterm examinations, conducted either through individual reviews and seminars in the classroom or on an e-learning platform.
Lesson mode
Course articulation. Phase 1: PLACE READING in groups. 1. delivery: dossier related to the site survey (historical critical analysis evolution of master plans, selection of the most significant projects on the area, graphic restitution of the site survey through synthetic drawings of objective and perceptual analysis of open, built spaces and current uses, etc.) 2. delivery: Plastic model of the project area. Floor plans, profiles insisting around the area in digital medium. Phase 2: INSTITUTIONAL POSSIBILITIES individually - courtyard block, - gothic lot, - four parts, - two longitudinal fronts via giulia and lungotevere Best practices: selection of 1 or 2 reference examples from those discussed and presented in class Delivery: poster with inspirational references and objectives 3. Step 3: Final design and Preparation of Examination Tables and Plastic model 4. delivery final project The advancement of students' technical knowledge and skills, developed through follow-ups with lecturers during tutorials, traditional lectures, ex tempore, and correction of assigned tasks will provide them with the opportunity to acquire (self-)critical awareness and the basic tools to evaluate, select, and choose the most appropriate paths for future design exercises they will be subjected to during their university career and profession.
