Construction process technology
Course objectives
CONSTRUCTION PROCESS TECHNOLOGYThe general objective of the course is to provide the methods and critical instruments required to understand the issues of Architectural Technology, especially with regard to the viability of a building, in the perspective of the achievement of a consistent operational continuity between the scheduling and design decision-making phases and the “technical construction” of the building organism, for the purpose of properly managing the work. The difficulty of disposing of a complete set of information on the construction techniques and technologies and, therefore, of effectively managing them; the difficulty of fully knowing the conditions that limit and determine the procedures according to which the works are carried out, often hinder and obstruct a systemic vision of the composite and manifold relations that intervene in and affect the technical decision-making, the various construction procedures and, above all the final outcome of the works. Therefore, the course focuses on the themes and topics capable of providing a technological culture for developing the capacity to interpret, control and manage the guiding instruments of the technological design decisions and providing the key initial instruments for correctly approaching the decision-making process, the first step in which is understanding “what” to build, then “how” to build it, and finally building and managing it, through subsequent stages of technical investigation, with a view to achieving a quality building product.
