Course objectives

The student will have to know the scientific fundamentals of Pharmacology and acquire the ability to apply the general principles of the discipline to the daily professional practice. In particular, the student has to be able to process and communicate the risk / benefit ratio of the various classes of drugs and of the most important active principles within the single class of drugs. Student will also have to acquire a theoretical ability to prescribe drugs according to the evidence-based medicine.

Prerequisites
Possessing knowledge of biochemistry, physiology, and anatomy, general pathology, pathophysiology, microbiology, and immunology, and having passed the qualifying exam in Pharmacology 1 (4th year, 2nd semester).
