Contents:
Thoracic Surgery: surgical anatomy of the chest; pneumothorax; benign and malignant pleural effusions; pulmonary abscess and gangrene; benign and malignant diseases of the airway; benign and malignant tumors of the lung, pleura and mediastinum; chest trauma; hydatid disease; surgical treatment of chronic respiratory failure.
Professionalizing activities: Interpretation of CT of the chest. Diagnosis and treatment strategy of the thoracic diseases.

For a good understanding of the topics considered in this course, students should have adequately studied the subjects of the following exams: Biology, Histology, Anatomy, Pathological Anatomy, Clinical scientific method.
