Course objectives

Learning outcomes: The aim of the course is focused on making students aware of the main pathologies that affect the maxillo – facial district. In particular, a specific emphasis is placed on the diagnostic procedure and to the choice of the most appropriate surgical procedures. By the end of the course students must: - know the main pathologies that affect the maxilla – facial district. - recognize the most important emergencies in maxillo – facial surgery and their management. - perform an accurate physical examination of the maxillo – facial district - identify the most appropriate procedure for each different pathology.

Prerequisites
In order to get a full understandings of the main maxillo facial surgery topics students needs to have a deeply knowledge of the head and neck anatomy and of head and neck general and disease specific pathology

Teaching mode
Due to covid19 pandemic, lessons are given in blended fashion. Clinic, ward an operative theatre attendance are encouraged. Attendance has to be agreed with the aprofessor and his colleagues
Frequency
Students must attend at least 60% of all lessons
Exam mode
The final evaluation of the entire course will be based on the results of an oral test.
