Course objectives

Learning outcomes: The aim of the Course in Oral Pathology and Medicine is to transfer to the student a comprehensive discussion of the wyde variety of diseases that may affect the teeth and the oral cavity (oral mucosa and maxillary bones). The main emphasis is placed on the clinical diagnostic aspects of the diseases including also epidemiologic features.

Contents: Diagnostic Iter in Oral Pahtology, Dental Caries, Dental pulp diseases, Dental trauma, Oral infections, Anomalies of the dental lamina, Disembriogenetic disorders of the oral mucosa, Infective diseases of the oral mucosa, Diagnostic procedures for the oral mucosa diseases, Vascular anomalies of oral cavity, Potential Malignant Disorders and Oral Cancer, Jaw cysts, Medication related Osteonecrosis of the jaw. Non plaque gingival diseases, medication related oral mucosa manifestations.
Prerequisites
Requirements: In order to acquire the subjects explained throughout the maxillo - facial course and to achieve the learning objectives a comprehensive knowledge of the head and neck anatomy is required.
