Course program
The core curriculum is divided, considering the pathologies of the different systems, into: nose, oropharynx, larynx and neck and ear. PATHOLOGY OF THE NOSE, PARANASAL SINUS AND NASOPHARYNX - Endoscopic anatomy - Notes on the pathophysiology of the nasal mucosa and the Eustachian tube - Sinus-nasal congestion and infection (rhinitis, rhinopathy, acute and chronic sinusitis) - Nasal obstruction syndrome in children and adults - Benign and malignant tumors of the nose and paranasal sinuses - Tumors of the nasopharynx - Naso-sinuso-facial emergencies (epistaxis, nasal bone fractures, rhinorrhea) PHARYNX PATHOLOGY - Acute and chronic pharyngitis - Acute and chronic tonsillitis; metafocal disease - Neoplasms of the oropharynx - Pathology of the salivary glands - Snoring and OSAS PATHOLOGY OF THE LARYNX AND NECK - Laryngeal sphincter function - Pharyngo-laryngeal unit - Dysphagia - Organic and functional dysphonias - Pre-cancerous lesions of the larynx - Benign and malignant neoplasms of the larynx - Laryngeal dyspnea and indications for tracheotomy - Laryngeal trauma - Foreign bodies of the airways and digestive tracts. EAR PATHOLOGY - Pathophysiology of auditory and vestibular function - External ear infections - Acute and chronic middle ear infections and their complications - Otosclerosis - Labyrinth pathologies - Vertigo and m. of Meniere - Acoustic neuroma - Paraganglioma of the temporal bone - Paralysis of the facial nerve - Otological emergencies (tympanic perforation, sudden deafness, acute mastoiditis, otoliquorrhea, temporal fractures).
