THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELING

Course objectives

The module aims to explore in depth the field of motivation in the context of physical and sporting activity, focusing on the theoretical framework of Self-Determination Theory (SDT). The objectives are multiple and aim to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the motivational factors that influence involvement in physical activities. First, the course aims to introduce the fundamental principles of SDT, a theory that examines how people are motivated and how this motivation influences their behavior. Students will have the opportunity to explore key concepts of SDT, such as basic psychological needs (autonomy, competence and social relationships) applied specifically to the context of physical activity. Another objective of the course is to analyze the different forms of motivation, distinguishing between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and understand how these influence participation and persistence in physical activity.
