Course program
In continuity with the first year of Architectural Drawing, this second year has the aim of providing the student with specific skills in terms of architectural representation. To achieve this, the teaching is concerned with deepening the geometric laws that regulate the formal structure already studied in the first year. To complete the graphic training, specific themes covering the various graphic representation techniques are dealt with. In short, the aim of the course is to put the student in a position to acquire the necessary knowledge and, with the exercise, the mastery of the techniques useful for managing the formal creative process and reading the built. The theme of the representation and the related techniques, will be addressed in all phases: - freehand sketches of the project idea and the survey - definition, coordination and control, including with colors, of the definition of a preliminary and significant project - the canonical drafting of a definitive project on the various scales of representation and relief - complex elaboration, both manual and informatic, aimed at the 'presentation' of the designed and detected object Among the side activities, but not for this reason less formative, we wanted to introduce that of live drawing that in addition to manually exercising once again the use of the graphic medium, conditions the performer to perform involuntary but continuous selections and observations to understand and choose what and how to represent.
Prerequisites
It is necessary to have actively attended the course of Drawing I, even if you have not yet given the exam, which however must be supported before that of this course
Books
No specific reference text. The topics can be explored on any text concerning the specific topics of the lessons. On line the students find all the material needed.
Frequency
optional but necessary to exercise the freehand drawing under the teacher's control
Exam mode
Each day of lessons is characterized by manual or digital work. At the end, each student sends an image of the work done to the teacher by email; this will be evaluated and considered in the complex of all the lessons.

Teaching is mainly divided into two phases, a first statement of the topic dealt with, followed by a more or less short explanation; at this first lesson 'ex cathedra' immediately follows a practical application, an exercise, in which are inserted any theoretical clarifications and practical practical demonstrations. Being the argument of a specifically graphic character the amount of hours in the classroom are spent drawing; the intention was to favor a graphic learning directly guided by the teacher, assigning to the work at home the phase of in-depth study of the theoretical principles and the collateral concepts. The drawings of the exercises performed in the classroom are from time to time judged, even if not finished, so as to be able to have at any time under control the evolution of teaching learning of each student. It is then the task of the student to finish the incomplete tables at the same time as learning the related topic on the notes or consulting the appropriate recommended texts. The work of the laboratory takes place mainly in the classroom and tends to apply and develop the graphic coordination skills. We will start with simple principles of architectural surveying for representation at various scales. Subsequently, on the basis of a common theme, the student has the opportunity to develop his own architectural structure to provide the graphic representation necessary for a complete formal, functional and constructive description.
