ERGONOMICS AND SAFETY IN INDUSTRIAL PLANTS

Course objectives

The course aims to provide students with a solid education aimed at understanding and managing issues related to workplace safety and ergonomics, in the context of the design and management of industrial plants, with particular reference to the use of machinery and work equipment. The training path is oriented towards developing the ability to identify, analyze, and solve the main technical critical issues related to the management of safety and ergonomics in industrial contexts. The fundamentals of current legislation on health and safety at work will also be covered, with particular attention to the conformity of machinery, plants and equipment. Finally, learning the main methods of risk assessment and control will be encouraged, with the aim of fostering the adoption of design solutions aimed at reducing dangers and optimizing the performance of industrial plants and their components.

There are no prerequisites.
Books
In addition to the lecture notes, information on texts, articles, and technical standards will be provided during the course.
Frequency
Lessons' attendance is not mandatory, but strongly recommended.
Exam mode
The exam is oral. A group project consisting of a practical exercise on a business case is expected. The exercise will be discussed during the exam. In addition, the exam will consist of a series of questions on the topics covered during the course.
Lesson mode
The course includes, in addition to traditional teaching, exercises and seminar activities by experts.
