INTERNSHIP

Course objectives

A) Knowledge and understanding: during the internship, the student will have the opportunity to further expand the skills learned in the classroom and in the previous internship experience, also through tutoring and guidance by more experienced staff. B) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the student will have to put into practice what he has learned to the practical situations he will face, making use of LIS / LISt communication strategies and techniques even independently. C) Autonomy of judgment: thanks to the knowledge acquired, the student will be able to evaluate with a greater degree of confidence which are the most effective translation and interpretation techniques according to the different situations. D) Communication skills: the student will be able to explain and motivate the aspects related to translation and interpretation techniques and will be able to competently argue their implications and / or critical issues from an application perspective; E) Learning skills: the student will be able to go deeper into the technical aspects of translation, also based on direct experience and the most diverse applications that are created during the internship.

Prerequisites
The prerequisites for the placement placed in the third year are: a) excellent command of the Italian language; b) good active and passive knowledge of LIS (grammar, syntax, phraseology, idiomatic expressions, phonetics, terminology, etc.) at level B2+/c1; c) good knowledge of deaf culture d) methodological knowledge transmitted in the teaching of theory and techniques of LIS <-> Italian interpretation e) attainment of all the teaching objectives identified for the second year (teaching modules and practical training).
Books
For each module, the interpreter/tutor will provide study and exercise material (autonomy/self-study).
Frequency
Attendance at the traineeship is compulsory.
Exam mode
The following activities will be assessed during the placement 1) Proof of organisation of an interpreting service 2) List > Italian and Italian > a list interpretation test of a known text 3) Questionnaire on general aspects of lis and list interpreting.
Lesson mode
The Department of Humanities and Modern Cultures stipulates a contract with a cooperative specialised in the field of interpreting from and into LIS This cooperative guarantees the employment of professional interpreters with adequate certified professional training and specific experience in the field of training and tutoring. The activity will be carried out in the training rooms at the disposal of the cooperative that won the tender (MEPA) with the use of interpreters/tutors characterised by specific competences in the field of the topics covered by the programme. Also in Year III each meeting will last three to four hours. The days and times will be agreed in such a way to identify availability that does not overlap with the students' other teaching commitments (lectures). students (lectures). - The classroom activity envisaged is a total of 200 hours to be subdivided into modules monothematic modules according to the course syllabus. - For each module, the interpreter/tutor will provide study and practice material (autonomy/self-study).
