Course objectives

A) Knowledge and understanding: The student will know and understand the architecture of the Italian language in relation to the different linguistic levels (phonology, morphology, word formation, vocabulary, syntax, pragmatics, textuality); he/she will also know and understand the concepts of standards and norms aimed at metalinguistic reflection, and the dimensions of sociolinguistic variation in contemporary Italian. B) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the student will be able to describe Italian language at various levels of linguistic analysis (phonics, morphology, syntax, vocabulary), illustrating and applying the concepts of the discipline. C) Autonomy of judgment: the student will be able to move freely and independently between problems and topics related to Italian linguistics, to enrich their knowledge and to deepen disciplinary aspects of particular interest. D) Communication skills: the student will be able to communicate their ideas with clarity and language properties, knowing how to use the technical terminology of the discipline. E) Learning skills: the student will be able to find and use the tools to constantly and independently update the knowledge and professional skills in the disciplinary field.
