The course aims to provide basic information on Polish history, culture and literature, focusing on events / phenomena that have shaped Poland today. topics covered: The concept of national culture. Norms, traditions, verbal and non-verbal languages .Polish landscapes - Geography of Poland . Introduction to the history of Poland I Polish and language families. Polish and Slavic languages. History, culture, language: Polish over the centuries. Relations of Polish with other languages ​​(X - XV ff.). Early documents and literary works in Latin . Birth of the literary norm. Relations of Polish with other languages ​​(XVI - XX) Consolidation processes of modern Polish. Introduction to Polish literature: some general concepts and questions of method Periodization of Polish literature and culture

History of Polish literature, edited by L. Marinelli, Einaudi, Turin 2014. Chapters I-IV, pp. 3-177. Materials uploaded on the e-learning platform (for a literary text of your choice, please contact me directly). For those who cannot be present at some lessons, it would be useful to come to the reception or consult colleagues' notes.
