Course program
There will be c. 6-8 hours of teaching for all 3rd-year translation students, regardless of the language you have chosen. These lessons will be in Italian and will provide a general overview: Introduction to Translation Theory as well as introducing a common theme (themes for past yeas include: ecoly, cultural translation, retranslation). The module will then concentrate on English to Italian translation and will be taught in English. Given the nature of the course, a strong competence in Italian is also necessary. After the compulsory number of lessons, students will have the option of continuing with translation workshops in class. To earn 6 credits (CFU), the student must attend and/or pass both the lecturer-led module and the written/oral lettorato course. Both the lecturer-led module and the lettorato will be taught in the second semestre.
Prerequisites
Students need to have passed 1st and 2nd year English language courses to follow this third year course.
