Communication of cultural heritage and territory

Course objectives

The course includes the learning theories and methods for the digital heritage and a collaborative production of digital heritage websites. The course aims to acquire the skills of application of the above knowledge for the study of tourism heritage resources in both business and institutional framework. Students must be able at the end of the course to formulate independent judgments on socio-economic and cultural topics and to contextualise them in the professional framework of reference. They will develop and experiment with communication techniques and market promotion based on the acquired technological knowledge and applying the acquired knowledge also to the advanced management of a list of highly qualified bibliographic sources.

Course program
Theoretical lessons on territorial communication with references to media studies and 20th-century communication theories. Case study analysis focused on the tourism-oriented vocation of SMEs and tourism in inland and rural areas. Project-based learning through working groups that will develop a communication and enhancement project for a traditional tourist area.
