Educational objectives The course is aimed to introduce to the acquisition of basic knowledge and to recent developments of science and technology of Information, Communication and Networks, focusing on the most interesting aspects of ICT for the management of goods and services in the tourist and cultural area.
As part of the "knowledge and understanding skills" the course includes the presentation of basic knowledge of the disciplines of computer science, network science, web-science and Digital Humanities.
With regards to the "use of knowledge", the course foresees the application of this basic knowledge to the current "infosphere" scenario: up-to-date analysis of emerging phenomena in web applications, mobile applications, geo-based applications is presented; special attention is dedicated to the sociological analysis of Social Media, creating opportunities to understand the phenomena from the point of view of information technology.
As part of the "ability to draw conclusions" the course provides for the realization of a final artifact assigned to small working groups established within the class; in this artifact the application of logical-argumentative methods applied through a group discussion is required; the final production of the artifact also provides for the study of methods and techniques for the correct citation of sources and for the profound understanding of the function of the quotation in supporting one's own autonomous argument.
As part of the "communication skills" much attention is paid to passing the final proof of the artifact presentation in which each member of the group, each student, is required to communicate with the help of the tools that he himself has chosen, the result final analysis, research and group debate.
