Course program
Introduction to the basic concepts of geography, historical geography and notions of general cartography. Recognition of the existing relationships between the spatial dimension and the historical dimension in the description and analysis of territories. The deconstruction of the concept of landscape in its diachronic, geographical and cultural dimensions.

Secondary school knowledge of general geography, human geography and general cartography

Presentation of written reports and in-depth essays, with reference to the participation in the general cartography seminar and in the events organized in Sapienza for the International Geography Night (April 2024). Final written test (quiz with both open-ended and closed-ended questions, including one/two questions aimed at ascertaining general cartography knowledge and skills, to be completed in 60 minutes).
