The Master’s Degree Program in Oriental Languages and Civilizations requires that the graduate—who must already be able to use a European Union language in both written and spoken form—acquire proficiency in at least one Oriental language aimed at both oral and written communication. This will be accompanied by knowledge of the corresponding literary history, both ancient and modern. Such knowledge will be further enriched by the in‑depth study of all possible dimensions—ideological, religious, philosophical, and aesthetic—analyzed in their historical development, which are characteristic of the culture and civilization associated with the chosen Oriental language. The program also offers the possibility of expanding expertise in ancient studies related to the cultural areas covered by the degree program.
