Course program
The module will address the general theme of the reception of Hispano-American literatures in Italy, on a diachronic level, starting from the mid-twentieth century up to the year 2000. It analyzes both the reception of central figures (Neruda, Borges, García Márquez, among others) and that of trends, debates, and specific moments (the so-called 'Boom', the cultural consequences of the Cuban Revolution on the continent and in Italy), etc. We will discuss the main figures of Italian Hispanists and the major literary projects concerning anthologies and publications that have marked the reception of Hispano-American literature in our country. Finally, the topic of translations and re-translations will be addressed.

Prerequisites
Knowledge of Spanish.
Knowledge of Italian.

Frequency
Attendance is not mandatory but is highly recommended. The module also includes activities carried out by the students, which constitute part of the final assessment.
For non-attending students, supplementary readings and a specific final assessment method are provided.
Exam mode
Attending Students: Assessment will be conducted through the development and in-class presentation of a research project assigned by the instructor on the themes of the course. Therefore, attending students who have completed all mandatory activities are not required to take the final exam.
Non-Attending Students: Written final examination.
Lesson mode
Traditional lectures (frontal teaching).
Research, presentation, and discussion activities are also planned for students.
The presence of external lecturers/experts on the topic, who will intervene in a seminar format, is also anticipated.
